Cleveland State University forward Lawrence ‘Lolo’ Karpeh has announced he will join AFC Cleveland for our upcoming 2017 NPSL season.
Born in Ghana, Karpeh played at St. Ignatius High School before joining the Cleveland State Vikings in 2016. Karpeh led the Vikings in goals and points during his freshman season en route to earning Horizon League All-Freshman Team honors.
Karpeh was part of the 2015 St. Ignatius team that won the OHSAA Division 1 state title and was ranked No. 1 nationally by USA Today Sports. The newest Royal scored in the state final to help the Wildcats earn a state championship. Karpeh would then participate in a high school All-American game where only 40 players across the country were selected.
Lolo looks forward to the challenge of defending AFC Cleveland’s championship, and playing for his city.
“I am excited to play for AFC because I love representing Cleveland, ” said Karpeh.
Catch Lolo and the rest of the Royals this Saturday when they kick off the NPSL regular season against Dayton Dynamo. Tickets are still available at afccleveland.com/tickets.
