The Royals’ attacking corps receive a boost with the addition of forward Reymar Klochko in anticipation of the 2017 NPSL season.
The Golfito, Costa Rica native is coming off of a career season with Notre Dame College, where he scored 10 goals in the Falcons’ final 17 games, and recorded an impressive shot to goal ratio of 0.7. Klochko’s outstanding performance led to him being named captain of the Falcons in 2017, his senior year at the college.
Reymar started his career in Costa Rica with Deportivo Municipal Perez Zeledon, and his teams placed second nationally in 2011 and 2013 in the Costa Rican U-20 Academy League. Klochko also played in all 19 games of Notre Dame College’s season his freshman year, scoring three goals.
Klochko looks forward to the challenge of defending AFC Cleveland’s 2016 championship.
“As a collegiate athlete with my last season around the corner, I couldn’t ask for a better opportunity to challenge myself to grow as a player. I am looking forward to working with a competitive set of guys that I know are eager to continue the momentum and keep that trophy here in Cleveland where it belongs.”
You can see Reymar and the rest of the Royals when the season kicks off at Stan Skoczen Stadium on May 13 against Dayton Dynamo. Season and individual tickets are still available at afccleveland.com/tickets.
