Midwest Region conference realignment announced

Today the NPSL Midwest Region announced its conference alignment for the 2017 season. The Midwest will be split into three conferences: North, Great Lakes, and East. AFC Cleveland will compete in the East Conference against familiar foes: Erie Commodores FC, FC Buffalo, Fort Pitt Regiment, and Rochester RiverDogz FC. The sixth team in the conference will be Dayton Dynamo, bringing back an Ohio rivalry for the Royals.

The NPSL regular season for Midwest Region teams will begin the weekend of May 12-14, and the final day of the regular season is Saturday, July 22. The Region will hold its playoffs during the week of July 24th, with the NPSL National Semifinals on Saturday, August 5th, and the 2017 NPSL National Championship on Saturday, August 12th. Further news regarding the 2017 league schedule and Midwest Region playoff format will be announced at a later date.
