AFC Cleveland Re-Signs Christian Earnest for 2013 Season

AFC Cleveland would like to announce the re-signing of defender and all-purpose player Christian Earnest to a new 1 year contract through the 2013 NPSL season. One of the most versatile players on the 2012 Royals roster, Christian spent the season on one of the stingiest defensive lineups in the NPSL. He earned all-NPSL Honor Roll mention for Player of the Week in week 4 after scoring an equalizing goal and shutting down the Erie Admirals offense. In the season, he scored 3 goals and tallied 4 assists, including a picturesque penalty shot versus Erie in the conference finals.

In his following collegiate season, Earnest strengthened the Notre Dame College attack from the forward and wing, that saw the team reach its first NCAA tournament appearance in its first year of Division II play. He ended the Falcons season with 3 goals and 5 assists.
Andy Hoggarth, Head Coach, “Christian was Mr. Consistent last season with a tireless work rate and tenacity in his defending. As well as being a large part of a solid defensive line Christian also provides us with a threat going forward and from set plays.

Aaron McGuiness, Assistant Coach, “He has tremendous strength and speed. He was one of our most consistent players last season and we’re delighted to have him back.

David Schmac, Director of Player Personnel, “Christian was one of our main targets this off-season and we’re extremely happy to have him back. He’ll give us a lot of options with our returning and new players.
