AFC Cleveland Signs Taylor Fletcher For 2013 Season

AFC Cleveland announces the signing of versatile defender, Taylor Fletcher, coming from Houston, Texas. Having attended Strake Jesuit College Preparatory (TX), Taylor completed his High School carrer following being named ALL-Texas, ALL-Region, and ALL-District, as well as being pinned as a first-team University Interscholastic League selection.

Fletcher signed on to attend Case Western Reserve University, starting in all 20 matches in just his freshman year. He was an immense contribution to a defense that posted eight shutouts and a 0.98 GAA (Goals Against Average). Following a stint with American University, Taylor is returning to CWRU this season to play a key role in the turn-around of a 3-14-1 record.

Andy Hoggarth, Head Coach, “Taylor seemed to constantly get the job done defensively when we watched him play. I was impressed with not only his ability to win the ball, but the decisions he made in using the ball once he gained possession.

Aaron McGuiness, Assistant Coach, “Taylor showed us that he has a tireless work rate. He is a solid defender that has the ability to attack out of the back. He will provide great support to our wide midfielders going forward.
