AFC Cleveland Signs Shawn Gross for 2013 Season

On the afternoon of the final AFC Cleveland tryouts for the 2013 season, the Royals announce the signing of Shawn Gross to a 1-year contract through the next NPSL campaign. Gross, a local favorite from North Royalton, Ohio, starred for the North Royalton Bears as the Northeastern Ohio Conference Player of the Year, also collecting All-Ohio honors. Named to the top list of “Players to Watch” by ESPN Rise, the outside back and defensive midfielder signed on to attend VCU following his graduation.

As a freshman, Gross was redshirted by VCU. He then decided to transfer closer to home to Bowling Green State University, where he will be a part of the Falcons plans this upcoming fall.
