Bowling Green State University defender, Sean Sikich will make his return to the Royals for the 2013 season. Sikich has signed to a 1-year contract through the 2013 NPSL season and is the 3rd sign for the Midwest-Great Lakes and Rust Belt champions.
In 2012, Sean was a strong piece of the defensive rotation that modeled AFC Cleveland as one of the toughest sides to score against in the league. He… battled through illness and injury that saw him missing half of the season, but returned to full form and played all 90+ minutes of every game this season for the Falcons of BGSU. His progression through his collegiate season promises a key 2013 NPSL season for the Royals!
Andy Hoggarth, Head Coach, “I am delighted that Sean has decided to sign a contract with us this again this year. Sean struggled with injuries at the start of last year but on his return was like a new signing with his desire and motivation. Having gained a lot of playing time and being a mainstay of the Bowling Green defense this year I feel that Sean will have further developed his leadership skills on and off the field and will be an asset to us.”
Aaron McGuiness, Assistant Coach, “Sean is a talented defender. He didn’t play much for us last year due to injury, but when he was available he definitely strengthened our defense. We have monitored his development this past college season and we see him playing a big role in the heart of our defense.”
